How it's funded
BrickContests is a volunteer project - no corporate backing, no ads, and no data sold to third parties. At the same time, storing, delivering, and backing up all the images uploaded to contests comes at higher costs than running a simple blog.
The platform is currently self-funded by its developer and sustained by them and direct donations from the community. Every donation goes straight toward infrastructure costs and improvements.
Beyond the bills, building and maintaining BrickContests takes a meaningful amount of personal time - designing features, fixing bugs, and keeping things running smoothly. That side of things can't really be put in monetary terms for a hobby project, and it shouldn't be. But it's worth knowing it's there.
