Enter as a team
Collaborative categories let several builders share one entry. Here is how invite codes work.
Before you start, you need
Everyone on the team needs their own BrickContests account.
The contest needs a category marked Collaborative - that is the organizer’s call, not something you can switch on.
Each teammate submits their own photo of the shared build, so agree in advance who shoots what.
Check the category allows teams
Open the contest and look at the Categories tab. Categories that accept team entries carry a Collaborative badge. In the entry form the same categories are marked with a small people icon.
If no category is collaborative, this contest is solo builds only.
A collaborative category. Without this badge, team entries are not possible. One of you starts the collaboration
Pick one teammate to go first. They open Submit Entry as usual and choose the collaborative category. A dashed box appears with two buttons - they click Start new collaboration and fill in a Collaboration Name. That name is what everyone will see on the grouped entries, so make it the team or collab name, not the build name.
They then finish the rest of the form - photo, title, description - and submit.
Choosing a collaborative category reveals this box. "Start new collaboration" is for the first teammate. Copy the invite code and share it
As soon as that first entry is saved, an eight-character invite code appears with a copy button next to it. Paste it into your group chat, Discord channel or wherever your team talks.
The invite code. Eight characters, letters and digits - copy it straight away. Everyone else joins with the code
Each teammate goes to the same contest, clicks Submit Entry, picks the same collaborative category, and this time clicks Join existing. They paste the invite code - it is upper-cased automatically - and a line underneath confirms which collaboration they are about to join and how many entries it already holds.
If that line says the code was not found, check for a typo or a missing character before trying again. Then they fill in their own photo, title and description and submit.
Joining an existing collaboration. The confirmation line under the field is your proof the code was right. See how it looks
On the contest page, open the Submissions tab and switch the grid to By Category. Collaborative entries are grouped together under your team name with a people icon above them, so visitors can tell at a glance which builds belong to the same team effort.
Each teammate’s entry is still scored individually by the jury, and each keeps its own place on the leaderboard - the shared name is what ties them together in the gallery.
Grouped by category: the team name sits above the entries that belong to the collaboration.
